FCACNA is guided by the spiritual principles reflected in the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and Twelve Concepts of Narcotics Anonymous. Everyone attending or participating in the convention is encouraged to consider these principles in their conduct, particularly unity, respect, personal responsibility, service, and anonymity.
These policies apply to all attendees, guests, volunteers, vendors, speakers, performers, and participants at FCACNA conventions and related special events.
Convention registration or a valid event ticket may be required for admission to certain activities and special events.
Attendees may be asked to present a registration confirmation, wristband, badge, or other proof of admission. Registrations and event admissions may not be copied, duplicated, or resold for more than the original purchase price.
Refunds and transfer requests are governed by the FCACNA Cancellation and Refund Policy.
FCACNA is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and recovery-focused environment.
Attendees are expected to:
FCACNA may deny admission or require a person to leave when their behavior is disruptive, unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with these policies.
Removal from the convention or an event does not normally qualify the individual for a refund.
Anonymity is a spiritual foundation of Narcotics Anonymous and should be respected throughout the convention.
Attendees should protect the privacy and anonymity of everyone participating in meetings, workshops, speaker sessions, and other convention activities. Do not publicly identify another person as a member of Narcotics Anonymous without that person’s permission.
What is shared during an NA meeting, workshop, or speaker session should be treated with discretion and respect. Personal stories or identifying information should not be repeated outside the event in a way that could identify the person who shared them.
Photography, video recording, livestreaming, and audio recording may be prohibited during meetings, speaker sessions, workshops, or other recovery-focused activities. Attendees should not photograph or record another person without that person’s clear permission.
Photos or recordings taken in public convention areas should be shared responsibly. Before posting convention photos or videos online, attendees should consider whether anyone pictured could be identified as a member of Narcotics Anonymous and obtain permission when appropriate.
FCACNA may designate certain public areas or activities where official photography or recording is permitted. Any official photography or recording will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible and with consideration for the NA Traditions.
The possession, use, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs is prohibited at all FCACNA events.
Alcohol may not be brought into or consumed in convention areas unless expressly permitted by the venue and FCACNA for a specific purpose. FCACNA events are intended to provide a recovery-focused environment.
Weapons and other dangerous or prohibited items are not permitted except as allowed by applicable law and venue policy.
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in areas designated by the venue.
Attendees must follow all posted venue rules regarding cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, vaping devices, and similar products.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children and minors at all times.
FCACNA does not provide childcare unless a specific childcare service is clearly announced in advance. Children should not be left unattended in meeting rooms, hallways, hotel areas, or event spaces.
Some special events may have age restrictions. Any age requirement will be stated in the event description.
Service animals trained to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability are welcome in accordance with applicable law and venue policy.
Pets and emotional-support animals may be subject to the rules of the hotel or event venue.
FCACNA will make reasonable efforts to support attendees with disabilities.
Requests for accessibility assistance should be submitted through the Contact Us page as early as possible. Some accommodations may depend on advance notice, venue capabilities, or availability.
Convention schedules, meeting rooms, speakers, performers, activities, and event details are subject to change.
FCACNA may modify, substitute, postpone, or cancel a scheduled activity when necessary because of availability, safety concerns, venue requirements, weather, emergencies, or other circumstances.
A change involving one speaker, activity, location, or scheduled time does not normally qualify the purchaser for a refund.
Attendees must comply with all rules established by the hotel, convention center, or other event venue.
FCACNA is not responsible for hotel reservations, room charges, parking fees, damages, incidental charges, or disputes between an attendee and the hotel or venue.
Attendees are responsible for any damage they cause to hotel, venue, vendor, or personal property.
Attendees are responsible for securing their own belongings.
FCACNA is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged property. Lost items may be turned over to the convention information desk or the venue’s lost-and-found department.
FCACNA volunteers are not substitutes for medical, mental-health, legal, or emergency professionals.
Anyone experiencing an emergency should contact 911, venue security, hotel staff, or the appropriate emergency service.
Attendees are responsible for managing their own medications, healthcare needs, transportation, lodging, and personal support.
The sale, distribution, display, or promotion of merchandise, literature, services, fundraising materials, or outside events may require prior approval from FCACNA.
Unauthorized solicitation or vending is not permitted in convention areas.
A person who registers or purchases admission for another individual is responsible for making that person aware of these Convention Policies.
FCACNA committee members, designated volunteers, venue staff, and security personnel may enforce these policies.
Depending on the circumstances, FCACNA may issue a warning, restrict access to an activity, remove an attendee from the event, contact venue security, or contact law enforcement.
FCACNA may update these policies as convention arrangements, venue requirements, or safety needs change.
